Here is why you should visit Italy this year

There’s a lot going on this year in the country of espresso, great food, wine and Dolce&Gabbana. If you love art, fashion or you are just around, you don’t want to miss this.

Milano. We talk about it a few days ago, but in case you miss it

Manet and modern Paris. Palazzo Reale, Milan. March 3 to July 2, 2017.
Organized in collaboration with the Musée d’Orsay, it’s a culturally remarkable representation of the time in which Paris transitioned into modernity. This golden age is showcased with 50 masterpieces by Manet, Renoir, Degas and other masters representative of Paris at the turn of the century.

Vasilij Kandinskij, knight errant. MUDEC, Milan. March 15 until July 2, 2017.
This exhibition, focusing on the relationship between art and science, and on the idea of travel as a cognitive adventure, is a beautiful journey that will lead us in the discovery of an unusual perspective on the Russian painter’s art.

Keith Haring. About Art. Palazzo Reale, Milan. February 20 until June 18, 2017.
Destiny was cruel to a great artist like Keith Haring, who passed away at only 31. Despite that, he still became one of the world’s most famous contemporary artists. Colorful, sensational journey, exploring works that are still embellishing houses and buildings of major cities all over the world.

Dentro Caravaggio. Palazzo Reale, Milan. 28 September to January 29, 2018.
It deals with Caravaggio’s voyage of self-analysis which continued throughout his life. His personal affairs and his artistic development are showcased by a selection of works that are a testimony to Michelangelo Merisi’s greatness. 

“The art of shoes” by Manolo Blahnik.  Palazzo Morando, Milan, January 26 – April 9, 2017
212 shoe designs, and 80 of his sketches from his career that spans over 40 years. The exhibition is  a specially dedicated to: Franca Sozzani and Anna Piaggi.

Bologna.

The Gelman Collection: Mexican 20th century art. Palazzo Albergati, Bologna. Until March 26 2017
This exhibition includes works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. 

Mirò. Palazzo Albergati, Bologna. April.
The same place will be showing amazing pieces of Joan Mirò, introducing us all to this Catalan’s world.


Naples.

Picasso-Parade. Naples 1917. Naples. April 10 to July 10
The exposition focuses on the important role the city of Naples has played in the artist’s life, influencing his future work. 

Genova.

Modigliani. Palazzo Ducale, Genoa. March 16 to July 16
Amedeo Modigliani was a major champion of Expressionism, and a source of pride for Italy abroad. Like Keith Haring, he also passed away at a young age, but his work is probably some of the most recognizable art there is. This exhibition in Genoa will be a great chance to see his art live, and you really shouldn’t miss it.

This is one of my favourite photographers, here we can find a collection with 140 shots to immerse ourselves in his world. Curated by Denis Curti

Venice.

 Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana. 9 April 2017
Damien Hirst’s latest project has been ten years in the making. This will be his first major solo show in Italy since the 2004 retrospective at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples.

Milano. Hablamos sobre la ciudad unos días atrás, pero en caso que se lo hayan perdido.

Vasilij Kandinskij, rey errante. MUDEC, Milan. 15 de Marzo al 2 de Julio, 2017.
La exhibición tiene foco en la relación entre el arte y la ciencia, y la idea del viaje como una aventura cognitiva. Un hermoso viaje que nos guiará en el descubrimiento de una inusual perspectiva de la pintura Rusa.

Keith Haring. About Art. Palazzo Reale, Milan. 20 de Febrero a 18 de Junio, 2017.
El destino fue cruel con el artista Keith Haring, quien murió a los 31. De todas formas, él sigue siendo uno de los artistas contemporáneos mas reconocidos. Colorido, un viaje sensacional recorriendo su trabajo, que hoy, embellece hogares y edificios de las ciudades mas importantes del mundo.

Trata el viaje del auto análisis de Caravaggio que realizó a lo largo de su vida. Su affair personal y su desarrollo artístico, son mostrados en una selección de trabajos, los cuales son testimonios de la grandiosidad de Michelangelo Merisi.

“El arte de los zapatos” por Manolo Blahnik.  Palazzo Morando, Milan, 26 de Enero – 9 de Abril, 2017
212 diseños de zapatos, y 80 bocetos de sus 40 años de carrera. La exhibición está especialmente dedicada a Franca Sozzani y Anna Piaggi.


Bologna.

Colección Gelman: Mexico siglo 20. Palazzo Albergati, Bologna. hasta el 26 de Marzo 2017
Incluye obras de Frida Kahlo y Diego Rivera. 

Mirò. Palazzo Albergati, Bologna. April.
El mismo sitio estará exhibiendo increíbles obras de Joan Mirò, introduciéndonos en el mundo de este artista Catalán.

Napoles.

Picasso-Parade. Napoles 1917. Napoles. 10 de Abril a 10 de Julio.
La exhibición hace foco en el importante rol que el artista jugó en la ciudad de Napoles, y la influencia en su trabajo.

Genova.

Modigliani. Palazzo Ducale, Genova. 16 de Marzo a 16 de Julio.

Amedeo Modigliani un gran artista del impresionismo, y una fuente de orgullo fuera de Italia. Como Keith Haring, también murió muy joven, pero su trabajo es uno de los mas reconocidos que hay. Esta exhibición en Genova será una gran oportunidad para ver su arte en vivo.

El último proyecto de Damien Hirst, en el cual trabajó 10 años. Será su primer solo show en Italia desde 2004 con su retrospectiva en el  Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples.
